Yakutsk. Houses on permafrost...




Permafrost takes approximately 25% of the total ground area of ​​the globe. The history of the permafrost started 1-2 million years ago. The most ancient frozen stratas were found in the Kolyma lowland in the north of Yakutia. Therefore Yakutia called the cradle of the permafrost.

My aunt Yana won the rubber boat...




In Yakutsk, the Days of a hunter were held. I visited the exhibition and sale of trophies, knives, stuffed animals, souvenirs, handicrafts made of different hides. Among the participants were known to hunters, masters of folk crafts and blacksmiths.

Countryside. Part 7. Winter fishing "Kuyuur".




On lake you should find islands of water under ice, where lake's small fishes, crucians and minnows  hibernate...Around is caught by ice tightly...It is considered that "Kuyuur" is one of the dirtiest kind of fishing because not only fish is slopped as a fountain(water is under a big pressure) but also lake's mud sometimes...

Winter fishing "Mungkha" is the most mass kind of fishing to crucians... Women  and children take part in it too...Winter day is short and everybody starts working hastily... According to the tradition, it is strictly forbidden for women to touch a net... If woman oversteps a seine, fishing can be cancelled - 
there would be no fortune...

Yakutian horses are quite small. Length of the withers reaches not more than 135 centimeters... Neck and legs are short, mane and tail are lush( We make ''Deybir'' from them which we use for brush aside the mosquitoes...) Body is long and massive with broad shoulders...The colors of them are usually pastel...

How to survive in frozen Russian Siberia! Part 1.

Soon I am going to visit my aunt's village))) The distance between Yakutsk and Itik-Kyuol' is 280 km. We will go by car and the road takes 5 hours...Settlements are at a distance of 80-100 km all the way between them is deserted...It means there are no humans...Moreover the temperature reaches -48C!!! If the car will break or unexpected situation will happen I must be ready to survive in the frozen cold. That's why I am choosing clothes for a long trip.)

Competition in extreme conditions)

Sometimes I think that winter will never end...The temperature outdoors is -45C))It's hard to imagine that the temperature in summer will be + 36C... Today is foggy day again...I can't see the Sun... It looks like there is no Sun... It is unreal to breathe normally because there are not enough oxygen...BUT!

Nevertheless, My Dad organized the table tennis play outside) He is a trainer of table tennis)
I think he defied the Cold or the winter actually )

Shopping!!



This afternoon we went to a market to buy a fish. Fishes are sold in the street outdoors(sellers don't afraid of the weather) as you can see on  the photos below.))There are many kinds of fish)

I am aways lying!! all day and all night!! I can't sit...I can only stand for a while...or just lie...It is so boring...I haven't used to  it yet...I have been lying for 50!!! days already...(injured my vertebra)

Until December 2012 I had been studying in Moscow then I fell down and broke my back...
So now I am lying in my motherland (Yakutsk). Sometimes I visit my aunt who lives in a smaller village which is called Itik-Kyuol'...I love it , more when it is summer outside) Maybe I'll visit her soon)

I go outside just once or twice a week cause it is very cold...and so uncomfortable...it is getting darker very fast...

I thought that it would be really interesting for those who can not imagine what is it...living in a small village when it is -50 outside...
Of course, for us it is everyday attribute)
