How to survive in frozen Russian Siberia! Part 1.

Soon I am going to visit my aunt's village))) The distance between Yakutsk and Itik-Kyuol' is 280 km. We will go by car and the road takes 5 hours...Settlements are at a distance of 80-100 km all the way between them is deserted...It means there are no humans...Moreover the temperature reaches -48C!!! If the car will break or unexpected situation will happen I must be ready to survive in the frozen cold. That's why I am choosing clothes for a long trip.)

I think The Coldness  is a great danger for human. Human can survive without any water in a hot desert for a few days but The Cold can kill after few HOURS...

Clothes take the first place for surviving in the cold.

I have to disappoint protectors of animal we wear only fur in the cold...And the longer the fur, the warmer)

Fur coat should be long with fluffy collar or hood.

Winter hat should be made of long fur and should cover ears and fasten on the neck.

Hands are getting frostbitten faster, so mittens should be thick woolen or better furry.)

Scarf must be woolen. It can cover the neck and the face leaving opened only the eyes.

Shoes are furry too. We call them "Unts". They mustn't be narrow or better one-size bigger to wear woolen socks. Tight shoes prevent normal blood circulation and promotes frostbite.

P.S. Tomorrow I will tell you about food)
