How to survive in frozen Russian Siberia! Part 3. Car...

On the 1 of January there was an accident. The weather was extremely cold -56C'... 15 km away from a village on the country road the car broke down...
There were 4 men in this car.... Two of them decided to go to the village  and reached it, but they were barely alive...frostbitten...(now they are staying in hospital...)The owner of the car died in his machine from the cold...His friend decided to call for help, but he didn't reached the village...He burned the haystack to keep warm...He was found hardly alive near the ashes...

Such accidents are not rare in Yakutia in bitter cold...

When we drive somewhere we trust our lives to our cars that's why condition of the car is very important to  get to the destination...When winter comes everybody starts to get ready his car to the cold winter... Garages are heated just like houses and flats...

1. Change tires to winter or spike...They don't slip and don't freeze...

2. Close with felt (numdah)  engine under the hood...

3.  Pull the bottom of the machine with a tarpaulin (canvas)...

4. Close the front radiator with penofol(penopolipropilen)...To achieve a tightness...

5. Put double window for a better review, because it is covered with the frost, and for keeping a heat...

6. Heater must be OK to keep warm in the car...

In winter you shouldn't turn off the machine because it will be impossible to start the engine...Every driver must  have matchbox for a long trip to kindle a fire...And must have warm clothes to be able to wait for help or make a shelter...

Tomorrow I will tell you about shelter...
